A man in Monatan accused of waterboarding his two sons and two neighbor kids pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years probation Friday.

William Albert Province waterboarded the kids as a "learning experience" for them, according to The Associated Press. His sons were 9 and 12 and the neighbors' kids were 13 and 15. He admitted to the four misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child in District Court in Boulder.

His girlfriend said Province broke her wrist and some finger when she tried to stop him from "waterboarding" his sons. She said he straddled the boys and poured water on the child's face while he covered the child's face and mouth with his hand.

District Judge James B. Wheelis sentenced Province to two years probation, minus the 80 days he has already spent in custody.

He was arrested in December at the Helena Regional Airport and allegedly made threats against public officials. At the time of the arrest, witnesses said Province possessed body armor, multiple assault weapons and ammunition that can pierce through armor.

According to the Independent Record, investigators found ammunition and three rifles that might be Province's but authorities didn't specify what kinds of weapons were found.
