Former free agent running back Reggie Bush was picked up by the Detroit Lions on Wednesday.

The Lions agreed to a four-year contract with the 29-year-old yet the financial details haven't been reported yet, according to Yahoo! Sports. The Arizona Cardinals was also looking to take in Bush.

Bush played for the Miami Dolphins for two seasons and finished with 986 consecutive rushing yards in his 2012 season, according to ESPN. The running back rushed for more than 950 yards and had more than 30 receptions during his two years with Miami.

Bush was drafted into the NFL in 2006 and spent five seasons with the New Orleans Saints. He won the Heisman Trophy when he attended the University of Southern California in 2005 but his trophy was revoked in 2010 after a National Collegiate Athletic Association investigation found Bush received gift and benefits while he was a student, a direct NCAA violation.

The Detroit Lions also brought on Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Jason Jones and agreed to a five-year return deal with their cornerback Chris Houston.

Bush is expecting a child with girlfriend Lilit Avagyan, he confirmed in October of 2012. He previously dated Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian.
