Because former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar couldn't reach a deal with Caesars Entertainment, the company that has owned Hagar's bar in Atlantic City for the last three years, Sammy Beach Bar & Grill will be opened in May under the name Bally's Beach Bar.

Caesars Entertainment spokeswoman Katie Dougherty said of the name change, "While Bally's has enjoyed the partnership with Sammy Hagar, the decision to reopen this coming May as Bally's Beach Bar is purely financial in nature."

Hagar's bar is located inside Bally's Atlantic City Hotel and Casino and was damaged by Hurricane Sandy but not destroyed, according to The Daily Journal. The bar first opened in May 2010.

The Red Rocker posted on his website, "While Hagar continues to explore a new partnership in the region, he and his Hagar Family Foundation will remain committed to the Atlantic City community through which he has supported local children's charities for the last several years."

Hagar, currently in the band Chickenfoot, donated $10,000 to St. Nicolas Roman Catholic church's food pantry when he visited Atlantic City last May. He also runs beach themed bars in Maui and California, and in airports in Las Vegas and New York.

Van Halen first formed in 1972 and released its first self-titled album in 1978.
