Comedian Andy Dick said preparing for Dancing with the Stars has been theraputic for him and that him and his partner have already deal with a lot of emotional stress.

Dick is partnered with Sharna Burgess and they might have be the first dance team to face a breakdown. He told Entertainment Tonight on Monday he had a breakdown after he couldn't get a dance move right. However, the comedian who has struggled with addiction in the past, said the show is better than therapy.

"I just hit a wall. I cried forever," he said. "But we worked through it. We actually had to have a lunch outside of here and just work through some stuff. Better than therapy. She's my new therapist."

He said he had to change his attitude and concentration level because he started to blame Burgess when he struggled to get some moves right. He also said when he gets frustrated he shuts down entirely.

"And I'll tell you what, that's where I'd hit the bottle in life," he added.

Burgess and Dick appear to share the same competitive spirit and in a video of their rehearsals, viewers saw the professional dancer explain to him that he must always move counterclockwise on the dance floor.

"So it's just basically dancing circles around the competition to be honest," he said, and Burgess laughs. She responded with, "Which we will so do."

Dancing with the Stars premieres on March 18 on ABC.
