Manchester United will take on the struggling Reading side at Old Trafford on Saturday.

United defender Jonny Evans has given his side fair warning that the team shouldn't give Manchester City even a small glimpse of hope in terms of the Premier League title race.

Alex Ferguson's team will look to gain another victory knowing that City can slim their rivals' lead at the top to nine points if they prevail at Everton.

Last season United blew an eight-point lead with a mere six games left to play, but Evans feels that his club has learned from its past mistakes and are motivated to ensure a similar meltdown doesn't happen with 10 games left.

"This is the business end of the season. We are in a great position in the league. We want to make sure we don't give City any sniff of getting back in and closing the gap on us," Evans said, according to Caught Offside.

"It is an important couple of weeks. At this club you have this experience on how to deal with that. We have all seen what happened last year so it is up to us to make sure that does not happen again," he added.
