D.L. Hughley, one of the stars of The Original Kings of Comedy, represented for the comedians during the premiere of Dancing With the Stars on Monday.

However, he came off a little stiff with his dance partner Cheryl Burke as they danced the Cha Cha, and the judges took notice. Bruno Tonioli said he terminated the Cha Cha and added that the performance looked under rehearsed.

Carrie Ann Inaba said he was stiff and Len Goodman said the performance overall was rough. Next week Hughley will be dancing the quick step and Goodman added that the quick routine is going to call for him to "work his butt off" in order to improve.

His score came to a total of 12 out of 30.

In his first rehearsal video with his dance partner Cheryl Burke, he told her he will be the Barack Obama of comedians on Dancing With the Stars.

"I'm going to be the first one," he said, referring to being the first comedian to win on the show. "I'm leading us to the promise land. Just call me Moses."

Burke is a two-time champion on the show and won with former NFL player Emmitt Smith and with Drew Lachey.

According to People, in Burke's blog she wrote it's been a challenge to get a lot of rehearsing done with Hughley before the premiere because he is in the middle of a comedy tour and performs every weekend.

"Dancing and flying are the most terrifying things to him. That's why he signed up to do this show - he wanted to do something that was completely out of his comfort zone," she wrote.
