James Madison University is set to take on Long Island University-Brooklyn Blackbirds (LIU) in a play-in game Wednesday night, which will be Dukes' first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1994.

James Madison will be without their best player Rayshawn Goins for the first half after he was arrested Sunday night following a team party, according to The Washington Post. Goins was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice, and released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

At the time James Madison officials released a statement that read, "The athletic administration is aware of the situation. We will not be providing any additional comments until we review this matter [Monday] morning."

Goins is the Dukes' leading scorer, averaging 12.7 points per game as well as over seven rebounds. James Madison coach Matt Brady announced Tuesday that Goins would be held out of the first half of the game against LIU and James Madison athletic director Jeff Bourne revealed news of the suspension in a statement:

"In accordance with JMU athletic policy, Coach Matt Brady is suspending Rayshawn Goins for the first half of the NCAA Tournament game on Wednesday night in Dayton. After having thoroughly reviewed the details in this case, the athletic administration supports Coach (Matt) Brady's decision."

Without Goins, the Dukes are not just losing their top scorer and rebounder. He is their third-best 3-point shooter and uses more than half of James Madison's possessions. Still, Brady is confident that James Madison can forge on in the first half without him.

"When we played those three games in the Richmond Coliseum, he had two great halves," Brady said. "There were four halves he wasn't great. He's a big part of our team, he's a big part of why we beat Northeastern, and he's going to play an integral part of what we do this weekend."

Goins scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a conference championship-clinching win over the Northeastern Huskies on March 11.

The game airs Wednesday night at 6:40 p.m. on TruTV.
