An eyewitness is claiming that a TSA staff member asked Marine Cpl. Toran Gaal, a double amputee, to get out of his wheelchair in Arizona's Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on March 13.

Gaal is assigned to the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Pendleton and lost his legs in Sangin Province, Afghanistan due to an Improvised Explosive Device, according to the Christian Post. He was flying back home to San Diego.

Congressman Duncan Hunter of California wrote a letter to the TSA on Monday that claims Gaal's legs were exposed and his prosthetics were removed, which "humiliated" Gaal.

However, the TSA responded, after seeing in footage that the TSA didn't remove his prosthetics, ""Preliminary review of CCTV indicates there was no removal of prosthetic limbs."

According to NBC San Diego, Hunter said he understands the need for TSA to screen passengers, but he's concerned with some of the TSA's "apparent lack of situational awareness and respect."

Bob Zimmerman, U.S. Army Vetran, said of TSAs in a video for NBC San Diego, "They are not sensitized. They need to be trained on how to treat people. Especially our warriors, and they're coming through in wheelchairs or on crutches or one leg or whatever, and they got to understand these are very special people."

Gaal and other Marines were flying back from a spring training fundraiser.
