Kevin Capponi was plowing snow off his driveway in Maine when he accidentally ran over his 6-year-old son on Wednesday.

State police spokesman Steve McCausland said Capponi was backing up on his driveway and didn't see his son, Nathan Capponi, who was playin with his scooter, according to The Press Herald. McCausland said Nathan was pronounced dead at Central Maine Medical Center.

Capponi, 36, posted an article about the incident on his Facebook page along with, "Please forgive me and my family. I love him with all my heart. It is now broken." His profile picture is of his son who is shirtless in the snow.

One comment on the post from Jeannine St. Pierre read, "this was an accident.. it was not your fault. we always blame ourselves,but it was an accident.. God has already forgivin you... you are all in our prayers toay tomorro and always...love you all....."

The family was called Wednesday night, but the man who answered the phone said they weren't ready to comment on the incident, according to the publication.

Another comment by Christopher Miller read, "There is no forgivness needed Keven.You family is caring and wonderful to be with.We feel joy whenever your family enters the room.You both look into the best for each other and the kids.Forgivness is not what you should ask for in this time.I give you my prayers and love."
