Seth Rogen Directing and Also Produce and Star In 'The Interview' With James Franco
Sony Productions announced recently that Seth Rogen will be directing, producing and starring in a new film called The Interview with Evan Goldberg, who co-produced Rogen's directorial debut This is the End.
Rogen and Goldberg also co-wrote Pineapple Express.
James Franco is rumored to co-star in The Interview as a talk show host while Rogen will appear as Franco's producer. During the course of the movie, the two become embroiled in a plan to assassinate the North Korean prime minister, according to Yahoo. Production of The Interview is slated to begin later this year and it will be the third collaboration between Rogen, Goldberg and Franco.
Rogen, known for his Knocked Up role. recently starred in The Guilt Trip with Barbara Streisand as an inventor who reluctantly brings his mother with him on a lengthy road trip to reunite her with a love interest from her past. Goldberg co-produced The Guilt Trip film as well.
Rogen directed and starred in This is the End, which features a cast of stars that would span the length of 10 red carpets. The story involves an apocalypse hitting Los Angeles, forcing a group of celebrities attending a party at Franco's house to deal with the end of the world. Along with Rogen, the cast includes Emma Watson, Jay Baruchel, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, Mindy Kaling, Danny McBride and Kevin Hart.
Franco's latest movie, Spring Breakers, premiered Friday. In it Franco stars as a drug dealer named Alien who bails out of jail four young girls, arrested for robbing a restaurant, in exchange for them doing his bidding. The four girls are played by Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine. Rapper Gucci Mane also appears in Spring Breakers as a character named Archie.
