Malcolm-Jamal Warner Splits with Regina King: Breakup Leaves Actress King 'Brokenhearted'
Former The Cosby Show star Malcolm-Jamal Warner and his wife, Southland actress Regina King, have reportedly split.
A source told Us Weekly that 42-year-old Warner, who played Theo Huxtable, "said he wasn't feeling it anymore" King, 42, and her son from ex-husband Ian Alexander Jr., lived with Warner and were asked to move out. The source said of King, "She's still very brokenhearted."
King, who was also in Jerry Maguire, and her ex-husband were married for 10 years before they divorced in 2007. King and Warner were childhood friends in the 1980s and King also starred in the sitcom 227.
King and Warner dated for two years and never had children together.
In 2012, King told Parade magazine about what brought her and Warner together, "I believe the universe has a plan, and we probably wouldn't have been ready years ago. We both had to do whatever we had to do to be ready for each other now."
The couple kept their relationship relatively private. In 2011, Warner told BET, "We like to protect what we have because it's very special and very precious . . . But I will say that it's a relationship that makes all the sense in the world."
