A 22-year-old died on Sunday after attempting to swing from a rock arch in Utah in a stunt made famous through a series of YouTube videos.

Kyle Lee Stocking, from West Jordan, Utah, tried to swing from the 140-foot Corona Arch and it was confirmed by the Grand County Sheriff's Office on Monday that he died at the scene of the accident, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

Sheriff Lf. Kim Neal said the "length of rope to swing from the arch was miscalculated and when [Stocking] swung under the arch, he struck the ground . . . receiving fatal injuries."

Jumpers have paid recreation business Utah High Adventure around $200 to swing from the famous arch in Moab, but there are liability issues with performing the stunt. The publication reported that in January of 2013, the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) withdrew the swinging option from Utah High Adventure.

John Andrews, SITLA's general counsel, said, "If people want to huck themselves off a cliff or arch that's their business. There is a general principle that owners who hold their land open for recreational use are insulated from liability. We felt there was more risk [exposure to the state] if someone operated under a permit and someone got hurt."
