NFL defensive end Elvis Dumervil agreed to a five-year contract on Sunday with the most recent Super Bowl champions, the Baltimore Ravens.

Dumervil, 29, was in the works of renewing his contract with the Denver Broncos until a mix-up delayed the renewal and the Baltimore Ravens got to him first. On March 15, Dumervil agreed to a reduction to his 2013 salary from $12 million to $8 million in part of a three-year, $30 million contract, but the paperwork never made it to the NFL offices in time, according to The Huffington Post.

Dumervil then fired his agent Marty Magid and is now with Tom Condon and the Ravens.

On March 24, Dumervil tweeted, "Can't say enough about the Broncos fans, my great teammates, equipment staff, training staff, media staff, Mr. Bowlen, Coach Fox, John Elway and the city of Denver. Its been an unforgettable 7 years. I am looking fwd to this next chapter of my career."

Dumervil had 11 sacks last season and led the league with 17 sacks in 2009, according to ESPN.

Broncos Vice President John Elway, a former Broncos quarterback, said in a statement of Dumervil, "Elvis was a team captain and a talented player who made a great impact during his seven seasons in Denver. I appreciate all of his effort on the field and the work he did in the community. I wish Elvis all the best as he continues his NFL career."
