Corey Simms News: 'Teen Mom 2' Twitter Silent Amid Rumors Of Demoting Role [VIDEO]
Will Corey Simms follow in Jeremy Calvert's lead and quit Teen Mom 2?
Following a report claiming Calvert will be leaving the MTV reality series after season seven, rumors are swirling in regard to Simms' role on the show, which he has reportedly chosen to reduce.
“Corey feels MTV did him dirty,” a friend of Simms told Radar Online last month, adding that he felt Messer was let off easy. “He thinks they had the perfect opportunity to show viewers, ‘This is what happens when you get on drugs, this is the reality.’ Instead, they made it seem like Corey was constantly attacking Leah for no reason.”
According to the report, Simms felt he and his wife, Miranda, were painted out as villains of the show, while Messer's alleged drug problem was left completely out of the series, despite her shocking behavior, which included nearly nodding off with an infant in her hands.
In response, they reportedly refused to film full-time.
“Corey told MTV just what he thought about the situation, and said that he and Miranda would not film nearly as much as in past seasons,” the friend explained. “Producers understood.”
Last year, during season six, Simms explained why he and Miranda confronted Messer about her "drug problem" on the show.
“Idk why I’m tweeting this because I honestly do not care what people think or what they say about me but anyways. There is a reason for everything that Miranda and myself have said or done," he wrote to fans. "We simply want the girls to grow up in a safe and healthy environment. There is a lot of things that has been told to us by very close members of her family that lead us to believe the things being told are very much true. If we didn’t care about the girls or the situation we would obviously not have anything to say or do about it.”
Teen Mom 2 Season Seven airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on MTV. For a sneak peek of next week's new episode, check out the clip below.
