Reshad Riddle, 25, was accused of shooting and killing his father on Easter Sunday at a church in Ohio, according to police.

As his father, Richard Riddle, 52, was leaving the Hiawatha Church of God in Christ in Ashtabula, his 25-year-old son went in the church and killed him with a single round from a handgun, according to The (Ashtabula) Star Beacon.

The newspaper reports that children were screaming and hiding in the pews as people were calling 911 after the shooting.

Associate pastor Sean Adams said Riddle yelled after the shooting that it was "the will of Allah. This is the will of God."

Riddle was subdued quickly and there isn't a known motive for why he shot and killed his father.

According to The Associated Press, Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell said, "Witnesses at the scene said the shooter entered church and made some references to Allah, but we are not sure if that was a motive or if there was a family problem. There is no indication that the father and son had a bad relationship. Everyone thinks this was very surprising."

In 2007, Riddle was charged with felonious assault and in 2009 was charged with possession of drugs, possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence, according to the AP.
