Red Sox - Yankees Live Stream: Watch MLB Opening Day 2013 Online Coverage
The New York Yankees will start its 2013 MLB baseball campaign appropriately by taking on its longtime rivals, the Boston Red Sox on Monday afternoon at Yankee stadium. It will be a battle of the lefties, as C.C. Sabathia takes the mound for the Yankees while Jon Lester is on the hill for the Red Sox.
New York will be fielding a depleted roster when it takes the baseball diamond for its first game of the season. The team has suffered a slew of high profile injuries to the likes of SS Derek Jeter (ankle), 3B Alex Rodriguez (hip) and 1B Mark Teixera (wrist). Robinson Cano (2B) will be actually be the only starting infielder from the 2012 club.
"You don't want to see anybody get hurt, but it's part of life. Hopefully, they get well soon. Hopefully, we can just stay in the race until whenever they get back, and when we get them back and they help us to make it all the way to the playoffs," Cano told ESPN.
To top it off, Yankees will also be without the services of home run leader Curtis Granderson (forearm), who is expected to be on the shelf until May.
