Royals vs White Sox Live Stream: Watch Opening Day 2013 Online At 3:10 PM CT
The newly revamped Kansas City Royals will face off against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field in an opening day matchup on Monday.
The newly acquired James Shields will take the mound for the Royals with star pitcher Chris Sale going for the White Sox.
Kansas City superstar slugger Billy Butler was happy to see his club's front office attempt to bolster the team at the current time instead of waiting for the future.
The team now appears to be in winning mode, as they look to make a splash in the AL Central Division.
"There's no reason we shouldn't be better. How much better that is? I'm not a mind reader. I'm not a projector. ... Our Talent's higher than it's ever been since I've been here," Butler told ESPN.
In 2012, Kansas City compiled a 72-90 mark. The team now feels as though they're ready to turn it up a notch.
"We're still young, we're still growing. We're going to have ups and we're going to have downs, but I think we're in a much better position to be successful this year just because of the maturity factor," manager Ned Yost said.
