The 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants will make the trek to Dodger Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in what should will be a competitive opening day matchup on Monday afternoon.

Clayton Kershaw will take the hill for the Dodgers while Matt Cain will get the ball for the Giants.

Although Los Angeles is heavily favored to win the NL West division, Kershaw isn't about to take the world champions for granted.

"They are definitely the team to beat. We can talk about it until we're blue in the face, but until we start winning some games and be in first place for the majority of the season, there's really not much we can say about it," Kershaw told ESPN.

Many experts are projecting that the Dodgers will run away with the respective division, which would be its first divisional crown since 2009.

"We're pretty excited to be playing against the World Series champs, and hopefully we can come out and play the game we know how to play. It is a rivalry, but that's more for the fans, not for us. We're just trying to beat every team out there," star outfielder Matt Kemp said.
