For months, the rumor mill has been in overdrive over the release date of the highly-anticipated, upcoming first-person-shooter game, Battlefield 5. Though numerous interesting rumors and other speculations have emerged, both EA and DICE have been pretty tight-lipped about the project.

That is, of course, until now. Recently, the official page for Battlefield 5's world premiere has appeared online, stating that the latest addition to DICE's epic franchise is set to be revealed on May 6, at 4 p.m. EST.

In a press release sent to gaming website Gamespot, the developers of the game stated that the event would focus on the upcoming title, as well as the general future of the franchise.

"Get insight into the minds of the developers as you hear from the creative director Lars Gustavsson and lead producer Aleksander Grondal on the past, present and the future of 'Battlefield,'" the press release read.

Though the information on the official page for the world premiere is pretty scarce right now, speculations are running high that the May 6 event could finally address many questions and rumors that have been emerging during the past few months.

Among these, of course, is the game's featured setting. Though DICE and EA have yet to unveil the actual nature of the game's setting, speculations are high that Battlefield 5 would be set in the height of the battles in World War I. Doing so would not only bring the series back to its roots; it would also enable the series to explore warfare in a setting that rarely gets featured in mainstream first-person-shooter games.

Fans of the series have reacted with both anticipation and reservation to the rumors of a WWI setting, with some fans stating that it would be interesting to explore trench warfare and other aspects of the First World War using Battlefield's trademark gameplay. Others, however, stated that considering Battlefield's tendency to not really be a fast-paced game, a World War I setting would make the game less exciting than previous Battlefield entries.

Considering that the official world premiere of the game is set four days from now, the question of the game's settings, together with a number of other pertinent topics about the title, would surely be addressed.
