The Texas Rangers (1-1) will look to take two out of three in their opening series against the Houston Astros (1-1) in a Wednesday afternoon game. Alexi Ogando will take the hill for the Rangers while Philip Humber goes for the Astros.

Ogando will surely be looking to gain motivation from Yu Darvish's near flawless performance last night, as he ended up pitching a near-perfect game, losing it with two outs in the ninth inning.

Ogando had put together an impressive season in 2011, winning his first seven decisions in twelve starts along with a 2.10 ERA, which was good enough to get him elected to the AL All-Star team. However, he faltered afterwards, going 4-5 with a 4.48 ERA after the break.

Since his performances became less consistent, Texas made the decision to use him out of the pen, and kept him there in 2012, where he went 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA in 58 appearances and one start.

He's now seemingly back to starting form after rejoining the rotation, posting a record of 2-1 with a 3.27 ERA in seven spring training starts.

"My command is there. I worked very hard in spring training on the changeup and I think the results showed it paid off. When I wanted to induce a ground ball I used my changeup and the results were good," Ogando told the Texas Ranger's official website.
