White Sox vs Royals Live Stream: Watch MLB 2013 Online Live Coverage At 1:10 PM CT
The Chicago White Sox (2-0) will take on the Kansas City Royals (0-2) at U.S. Cellular Field in a Thursday regular season showdown. Jeremy Guthrie will take the hill for the Royals while Garvin Floyd gets the ball for the White Sox.
Chicago were atop the AL Central division for quite some time last year prior to going on a 2-10 run in late September, putting them three games behind the Detroit Tigers.
"They have a great time. They have a great bunch of guys, and they play hard. That team is scrappy. ... It's nice to come out (against) a team that's had our number as a team and play well," pitcher Jake Peavy told ESPN.
Although Kansas City was 2 for 13 with runners in scoring position and left 14 runners stranded on the base pads, Chicago skipper Robin Ventura doesn't believe their struggles represent their ball club.
"They're a good team. I don't think they're going to lay down," he said.
