Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's duet has officially been released.

Ahead of the release of Shelton's new album, If I'm Honest, the country singer has released his second single, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," which was written by him and Stefani at the beginning of their relationship last year.

In the new song, as Us Weekly revealed on Monday, lyrics read, “You can't tell me that we'll still be friends / And maybe someday we can try again / If you really need a brand new start / Why don't you go ahead and break my heart?”

On Twitter, Stefani shared a number of retweets regarding the sudden success of the new single.

Shelton also spoke of the new tune on his Twitter account.

After learning his and Stefani's song was #1 on the country music charts in Brazil, Shelton tweeted, "Whoa!!!!! Now that's a first!!!!!"

Then, after a fan informed him that his song was trending, he wrote, "Awesome!!! What does that mean?!!!!"

Weeks ago, Shelton spoke to PEOPLE Magazine about working with Stefani for the first time.

"We were at a point where it's like, 'Do we want to go there? What will people think?' And then we finally just got to the point where it's like, 'You know what? I don't give a s***," Shelton explained. "This song's important to us and the fact that we wrote it together is so important to both of us."

"I think Gwen has a smaller circle too when it comes to writing, and the fact that we went there that early as we were getting to know each other, it's just remarkable," Shelton continued. "As different as we are musically, we're a fan of the same type of songs. We have these playlists that we send each other that are stuff that we loved growing up and they're so similar, so I think it made it easy for us to collaborate."
