A man dressed as Cookie Monster was arrested in Times Square for allegedly pushing a 2-year-old boy on Sunday afternoon.

Law enforcement officials said the man, 33-year-old Osvaldo Quiroz-Lopez became angry when the child’s mother didn’t give him a tip, reported NBC New York.

According to the statement, the mother, a woman from Connecticut, said Quiroz-Lopez became aggressive after she took a photo of him with her son. The Sesame Street character demanded $2 and when the woman didn't give it to him, he reportedly used verbal assault on the mother, cursing at her and calling her son offensive names. He then pushed the boy. The toddler was not injured.

The man was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, law enforcement sources said. He remains in jail on Monday as he awaits arraignment.

The incident recalls the "sick, touchy" Elmo impostor known to harass New Yorkers, demanding they pose for pictures with him, as reported by the Daily News last year..

This evil Elmo, who goes by the name Adam Sandler when he's out of costume, was also found to have managed an illegal porn site in Cambodia with the disturbing name, "Welcome to the Rape Camp."
