Girl Meets World's Maya Hart is ready to break away from the pack.

Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) will enter high school this summer, and while the life-long BFFs are worried about drifting apart, Maya will soon learn that a little separation might not be a bad thing.

"We're in the middle of filming season three right now and already there have been some incredible storylines," Carpenter told Yahoo TV, setting the stage for episode 5. "It's all about finding what we can do to take things to the next step because as you grow, you go through more intense stations in life and that's what these kids are going through."

Titled "Girl Meets Triangle," the June 24 episode smacks of Rucas/Lucaya drama, but really centers on Maya's artistic ambitions.

"Maya's identity crisis kicks into high gear when her art teacher makes her realize her friendship with Riley may be affecting her artist's voice," Disney teased.

What does this mean for Riley and Maya? Do they need to spend a little time apart to focus on their own hobbies, or do the teens have to face down that nagging Lucas (Peyton Meyer) issue?

"Friendship is the most important thing in the relationship between these four or five friends," Carpenter reminded TV Insider. "It's funny, we'll joke about the triangle now. You'll definitely see things happen in Season 3, [but] right now they're not awkward about it. There are comments about it [but Riley and Maya] are not jealous of each other. They're always willing to talk it out or figure things out."

Meet back up with Riley, Maya, Lucas, and Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis) in the two-part season 3 premiere, "Girl Meets High School: Parts 1 and 2." Starting June 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel. Click the video below to see a preview for the series' next episode.
