Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton Engaged? 'Used To Love You' Singer Denies Rumors, 'Everything Is Crazy' [AUDIO]
Despite endless rumors to the contrary, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are not engaged, nor are they planning to be anytime soon.
Stefani cleared up the rumors while calling in to 94.7 Fresh FM's The Tommy Show on June 1, after she was asked if she'd be sporting an engagement ring while on her upcoming tour.
"Look at this last year, let's just take it one day at a time," she said. "Everything's crazy right now, so no, absolutely not!"
She also dished on how she couldn't believe some of the stuff she has been reading about herself in the last year, with the rumor mill continually churning out stories about her relationship with Shelton, as well as her divorce from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and she admitted that for her, the part that wasn't funny was that some of her fans were believing what they read.
"Can you imagine the amount of gossip-y, weird stories people make up?" She said. "To me, it makes me laugh every day. I actually do Google my name just so I can see the next one that's gonna happen, because it's gotten so out of control. The best part about it is it's hilarious; the worst part about it is that some people actually believe that stuff like that is what's funny."
Her comments echo ones Shelton recently made in an interview with Rolling Stone, where he discussed his reasons for suing In Touch Magazine for their story last fall that suggested he needed rehab after spiraling with alcohol addiction following his divorce from Miranda Lambert.
"Well, at some point you gotta draw the line. I would say that 98 percent of this stuff you see in tabloids is a complete fabrication. Sometimes they get my name right, but that's about it," he said. "But when they print something that I feel like could be damaging either on a professional or personal level, then enough is enough. With the lawsuit that I have going on right now, I'm not backing off of it. Because with that level of a lie, I don't want one kid to walk by that magazine rack and see that and have it affect who I am in their mind."
"I also have professional reasons," he continued. "I can't allow somebody to print something like that about me. That could affect my job. I felt like they crossed a line, and now they know they did. Because we're moving forward with that. And that's a good thing for me."
