Farrah Abraham News: 'Teen Mom OG' Adopting Child With Simon Saran? [VIDEO]
Farrah Abraham is planning to welcome a child -- but not by becoming pregnant.
At the end of last year, the Teen Mom OG star announced plans to adopt, and as her relationship with Simon Saran continues, she may become a mother of two sooner rather than later.
“I’m happy to confirm I'm moving forward in my adoption process. This means I will be making some changes in my career to welcome a new addition to my family,” Abraham told Us Weekly in December. “Very excited, and this feels so right. I'm very blessed for this opportunity.”
Abraham also said that her daughter, 7-year-old Sophia, was ready to become a big sister.
“Sophia is in the right frame of mind and is very supportive as well,” Abraham told OK! Magazine, via Us Weekly, around the same time. “She is very open and accepting to understanding that someone else had other parents, and we would be their second parent and be a loving family to them.”
Months later, Abraham spoke of her adoption again, telling PEOPLE Magazine she hoped to welcome a second daughter "soon."
"We're open to adopting someone who's not just – a child that can not just only be a newborn. But also a child that is maybe 3 or older," she said. "There's a lot of, you know, orphans that are so adorable. So, I mean, it just breaks my heart when I see things like that because I grew up around adoptive families and I've always wanted to help. So it's just a time and a place and hopefully soon I will be ready."
Abraham went on to speak of her desire to be a "friend" to Sophia and her future child, in addition to a mother.
"I want to keep it real with her," the reality star said. "Like, a friend. Like, if you wanted to talk and you asked me in-depth details, I would be more than open, you know. I don't want other women to make the same choices that I've made if it conflicts with their dreams or their goals."
