Officials are saying that two more bomb devices have been located and are currently being destroyed amid the Boston Marathon bombings that occurred on Monday. Two bombs had ignited near the finish line, resulting in the deaths of two people while injuring 28 others.

According to Mercury News, the Boston police department stated that the local authorities were in the midst of helping the wounded individuals.

Roughly two hours after the winners of the infamous race passed the finish line, there was a loud explosion that took place on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the photo bridge that marks the finish line. Just a few seconds later, another explosion was heard.

Boston Marathon officials stated that the bombs were the primary cause of the two explosions and the organizers of the event are working alongside the authorities in order to determine what exactly occurred.

The scene was horrific, as both race volunteers and runners desperately attempted to flee the melee that transpired. Bleeding spectators were being taken to a medical tent that had initially been set up to care for tired runners.

Individuals who were not near the bombs were rerouted away from the smoldering scene.

Roupen Bastajian, 35, a state trooper, had just finished the race when he heard the disturbing blast.

"I started running toward the blast. And there were people all over the floor. We started grabbing tourniquets and started tying legs. A lot of people amputated. ... At least 25 to 30 people have at least one leg missing, or two legs missing," he said.

Huge amounts of smoke could be seen coming from the Marathon Sports store and marathon officials were seen pulling metal railings that were piled on the ground to free some trapped people.

Police are being deployed to major landmarks in other large cities across the U.S. including New York City, as fears of a possible terrorist attack emerge. However, there has been no confirmation of the cause of the explosions at this time.
