Sonic The Hedgehog 2017: Official Trailer Confirms New Title To Be Available For The Nintendo NX [VIDEO]
Sonic the Hedgehog is coming back, and his upcoming game, Project Sonic, just got its first official trailer. If the trailer is anything to go by, it seems like the upcoming Sonic game will be one fun game that pays homage to the classic games in the franchise while updating its style to current-generation graphics. Needless to say, it looks like an awesome game.
In fact, several things were immediately apparent in the brief debut trailer. For one, the developers of the game seem to be keeping the original art style of Sonic in the upcoming title. Indeed, titular hedgehog, though fully rendered in 3D, looks great in the trailer. Also, the game seems to be featuring multiple iterations of Sonic, seen in a couple of scenes in the debut trailer.
Notably, something else about Project Sonic's debut trailer has piqued the interest of fans. In the last frame of the trailer, the platforms where the game would be released were shown, and right beside the logo for the Xbox One and PC lies an insignia that has not been seen before -- the logo of the NX.
The image of the NX logo is indeed quite different from what many Nintendo fans were expecting. After all, there were speculations that the NX is simply the codename for the device, and that Nintendo would be releasing its upcoming gaming machine using another name. If the Project Sonic debut trailer is anything to go by, however, it would seem like NX would really be the final name of the console.
As much as the NX logo quickly attracted the eyes of Nintendo fans, however, Nintendo has so far not confirmed if the logo is the official insignia of its next console or not. Plus, there is always the possibility that Sega might have just come up with its own logo for the NX with permission from Nintendo.
Regardless of the authenticity of the NX logo, one thing is indeed certain. With Project Sonic, the Nintendo NX has just gotten another awesome game in its lineup.
