Musicians everywhere are still shocked over the sudden death of Prince.

The "Purple Rain" singer died last April and Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook remembers it as a "great loss."

In Tuesday's report from Blabber Mouth, the guitarist pointed out how something tragic can happen to someone no matter how lucky one might appear to be.

"Absolutely shocking and very sad," Hook said about Prince's death. "It's a reminder that it doesn't matter how talented or successful you are when something happens with your health. You can't control that stuff. It's really sad. To think of how old I am and how old he was when he died, it really reminds me that life is short and that nobody escapes that fate. It's just a question of when."

Hook will always remember Prince as someone who was talented in all kinds of different areas.

"He's obviously an incredibly talented individual- not just a great guitar player, but piano player, and he played the drums and sang and did everything," he said. "It's a great loss. It's very sad, and he'll be missed."

There was a previous rumor that Prince could've been addicted to drugs, but according to his former bodyguard Chris Gaither, he didn't see any signs of an addiction.

"I packed this man's bag on the daily," Gaither told CNN. "I have been on tour with him for months. So if anybody had an addiction that would be something you would see. That would be something that you would know."

"He may have had an issue where he had to go to the doctor and they prescribed something for him, but as far as him abusing stuff, that's not him," he added. "When it comes to health, he's the fittest person."
