While there are a number of players who claim to have caught all the creatures currently available in Pokemon GO, the presence of region-specific Pokemon has ensured that catching them all would not be as simple as it would seem.

As of today, four Pokemon have been reported to be region-specific, with Tauros being only present in North America, Kangaskhan only being available in Australia, Mr. Mime only present in Europe and Farfetch'd only available in Asia.

Pokemon GO Generation 2 Region-Specific Monsters

With the impending release of Pokemon GO Generation 2 monsters, however, the list of region-specific monsters has captured the imagination of fans, with many speculating which of the second generation Pokemon would be chosen to be present only in certain parts of the world.

Popular Pokemon GO Reddit forum The Silph Road has weighed in on the possible list of Generation 2 region-specific Pokemon, and based on the community's response, there's a very good chance that these Pokemon would be the rarest of the rare once generation 2 hits.

Miltank

The idea of Miltank being a region-specific Pokemon has been emerging in The Silph Road as of late, with many community members stating that the powerful cow Pokemon would be specific only to the United States, mainly due to the fact that Tauros of Generation 1 is only available in North America.

Sudowoodo

This really popular Pokemon is being speculated to be among the rarest of the Generation 2 monsters that would make an appearance in the popular augmented reality game. Due to the fact that Sudowoodo's pre-evolution seems based on a bonsai tree, many Pokemon fans are speculating that this popular creature would only be available in Asian regions.

Smeargle

Smeargle is one of the most iconic of the Generation 2 monsters, and its appearance, just like Mr. Mime, echoes a lot of Europe's painting culture. Thus, many Pokemon GO fans in The Silph Road believe that this particular creature would only be available in European regions once the Generation 2 update rolls out.

Stantler

This deer/elk-looking Pokemon has come out in several discussions in The Silph Road as of late, with many users stating that the creature might be exclusive to Russia or Scandinavia, due to the presence of similar animals in the area.

Of course, these speculations could not be confirmed as of yet. One thing that can be ensured, however, is that once Generation 2 Pokemon GO monsters get released, the game would get even more popular than ever before.
