Amanda Knox Interview with 'Good Morning America;' She Wants to 'Connect' with Meredith Kercher's Family [VIDEO]
Amanda Knox sat down with Robin Roberts of Good Morning America on Wednesday to discuss details of her arrest and the real story regarding the murder of her college roommate, Meredith Kercher.
In her first live interview since being released from prison, the 25-year-old told Roberts she’s not the one who should be pitied.
“Meredith Kercher is the victim,” she said. “Meredith Kercher died. And her family deserves answers."
The former convict described her friendship with Kercher before she was killed. Although the victim's family said they don’t plan on reading Knox’s book Waiting to be Heard, the current University of Washington student stated she hopes they change their mind.
“I hope that we connect,” Knox said in the interview, about Kercher's family.
Knox added that she wants readers to understand the real details in what would seem an unbelievable story.
“I wanted people to know who I was,” she said. “I felt like I was lost in the middle of this storm. When you’re in a situation that’s as incredibly surreal … I was interrogated aggressively … I was 20 … I was clueless all the way through … I had to learn how to survive.”
Knox said following her return to the United States she remained very much to herself, but now she's “doing great.”
