Nintendo NX Release Date: When Can Fans Actually Expect The Next-Gen Console? [VIDEO]
Nintendo fans are still eagerly awaiting the release or even some news about its latest flagship gaming console, the NX. Unfortunately, the legendary gaming company is keeping its lips extra sealed. Despite the absence of concrete information from the veteran gaming giant, however, the hype surrounding the upcoming device is reaching a fever pitch.
One thing that Nintendo definitely excels at is gaining hype for its devices. Looking at the company's announcements about the NX so far, a typical pattern among Nintendo announcements becomes evident. The marketing and announcement about the NX are classic Nintendo, from the cryptic statements to seemingly related patent filings that have trickled down over the last few months.
Despite the lack of information, however, numerous fans believe that the Nintendo NX would soon be revealed by Nintendo, possibly within the next few weeks, according to the Business Insider. These speculations could be determined from previous leaks concerning the device, as well as other pertinent rumors that have emerged in recent weeks.
If Nintendo does end up unveiling the NX within the next few weeks, it would make perfect sense. After all, the NX's competitors, the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro and the Microsoft Xbox One S have already been released, and the hype over the Japanese and the American consoles are starting to die out.
Thus, the next few weeks would be perfect for Nintendo to reveal the NX. By doing so, Nintendo would be able to capture the attention of gamers in a time when its rivals have already announced and released their entries for the next year.
The Nintendo NX is rumored to be a new breed of gaming device, with iTech Post stating that the machine would most likely be a hybrid device capable of both portable and console gaming. While there are almost no concrete leaks from Nintendo itself about the NX's raw power, the Japanese gaming giant has been very firm in the statement that the NX would be adequately powered.
Over the last few years, Nintendo has become a third player in the gaming console wars, with its rivals from Sony and Microsoft usually outgunning its flagship machine by a notable degree. This has happened during the most recent gaming console generation when Nintendo's Wii U practically became a joke compared to the power of the Sony PS4 and the Microsoft Xbox One.
With the NX, however, Nintendo might be able to pull off something unique. After all, if the device does manage to bring a new gaming experience to the table, there is very little doubt that the NX would be a pretty big hit for Nintendo.
