'Love in the Moonlight' tops the chart of Korean dramas
The Number #1 Korean drama in 2016 is Love in the Moonlight starring Park Bo-Gum as the Crown Prince Hyomyeong and Kim You-Jung as Hong Ra-on, a eunuch. Their love entails a love from different backgrounds in life and was able to still fight for it. Many Korean tv viewers are now enthralled with the love story of this two couple.
Based on a 19th century themed setting, Hong Ra-on is a love expert that deals with the dating problems of young men. In a recent article of Asianwiki. Hong Ra-on inadvertently wrote a letter that directly went to Crown Prince Hyomyeong, her whole life and gender have changed. Unknowing of her predicament in meeting the Crown Prince, she bravely played her act as a man. With this, Hyomyeong is unaware of Hong Ra-on's gender.
As their path meet, they were drawn to enjoy each other's company, with Hong Ra-on's fear that her gender is revealed. The Eunuch's however discovered Hyomyeong developing feelings for Hong Ra-on and encourages her to join them. And the story blossomed episode by episode, much-anticipated by Korean viewers.
Love in the Moonlight is based on a popular web novel as reported by Mstars News, which circulated in social media portals of Korea in 2013. This hit tv drama is a work of art of the most talented directors,cinematographers and music directors of Korea that made the equally No.#1 Korea novella Descendants of the Sun. Due to its popularity, KBS Media adapted Love in the Moonlight into a musical production in Korea.
TV Viewers can watch Love in the Moonlight every Mondays and Tuesdays at 10pm on Korea's television channel KBS2 with its twelfth episode aired on September 27. The drama series began filming as early as June 2016 and the first script reading was May 2016. Yook Sung-Jae ('BTOB') was first offered the major supporting role of Kim Yoon-Sung but declined due to scheduling conflicts.
