Moto Z, Moto Z Play and Moto Mods to debut in India
After almost a month of its announcement at IFA event in Berlin, Lenovo, the sole owner of all the operations of Motorola Mobility, finally launched their new flagship range of products: The Moto Z, Moto Z Play and Moto Mods in India. All the devices will be exclusively available for buyers at Amazon India and Flipkart from October 7th, 2016. The Moto Z which is hinted as the top-end model has been priced at Rs 39,999, while the Moto Z Play which is simply a device akin to the former with regards to specs and features at an affordable range, will cost buyers Rs 24,999.
According to tech experts, The Moto Z and Moto Z Play are Lenovo's attempt to bring new variant that can match with the latest trend of highly-customizable and "modular" smartphones. The phones, both being parts of Moto Mods lineup, support a number of swappable modules that can be attributed to the smartphone through 16 magnetic ports setup. The Moto Z, which is regarded as the successor to Moto X launched in last year, was first unveiled at Lenovo's Tech World conference in San Francisco earlier this year.
Moto Z is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset in association with an Adreno 530 GPU. The phone is also attributed with a 4GB RAM and with a 64GB of internal storage with additional expandable capacity up to 256GB. The device will also showcase a Quad HD AMOLED display with 2560×1440 pixels. It will also comprise a 13-MP rear shooter with optical image stabilisation (OIS), dual-LED flash and a laser autofocus alongside a 5-MP front camera.
On the other side, Moto Z Play is accessed by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset in association with an Adreno 506 GPU. It will be coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage attribution. The smartphone will also be accompanied by an ultra clear 5.5-inch FHD Super AMOLED display. In Camera section, a 16MP primary shooter with dual-LED flash, alongside a 5MP front shooter will be included as per reports. According to a report by Indian Express, the phone will be powered by a 3510 mAh non-removable battery.
Besides all these, some of the spectacular mods can be added with both of these devices for having a superlative experience. According to The Huffington Post, the company has also announced a range of mods which can be attributed to both of these models like The Incipio offGRID battery extender mod is retailed at ₹5,999, which can be added to increase almost 40% of usual battery life. The JBL boombox speaker mod costs about ₹6,999 and the Hasselblad camera mod is priced at ₹19,999. Many other mods are also reported to be unveiled very soon.
The Moto Z and Moto Z Play will primarily run on Android Marshmallow. Although the company has hinted to upgrade all the phone in Moto Z series with Android 7 Nougat in near future. Both the phones are enabled 4G LTE connectivity and also carry dual sim slot. With all these exclusive features and specs included in these tremendous smartphones, the company expects both of these to be the favourite gadgets of Indian tech fans.
