EXO Lay's 'What U Need' released on his birthday as gifts to fans [Watch]
Korean pop star Lay from EXO will be having his first solo album and teasers are on its way anticipating k-pop fans worldwide. Lay, a member and main dancer of the South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO, is the first to have his solo album.
Zhang Yixing or popularly known as Lay is a Chinese composer, singer, author, dancer and actor. He was discovered in a Chinese TV talent show Star Academy in 2005 and wrote his autobiography entitled Standing Firm at 24 which became a popular online book.
Lay was the sixth member of the EXO group who officially entered in January 2012. Since then, he was dancing with his members on shows and has been on dancing programs.
Along with this, he has been composing songs with the group until recently it was announced that he will have his own album. On October 7, exactly on his birthday, Soompi has recently reported that he will launch the single "What U Need" before the release of its album, making it a gift for his fans.
His schedule is jam-packed as Koreaboo recently reported that he will be performing at the 2016 Asia Song Festival. He will sing for the first time onstage the previously released "What U Need".
The song is a medium-tempo song with a trendy rhythm and melody of the funky, pop and groove genre. On October 6, SM Entertainment released two image teasers for the EXO member for his upcoming track "What U Need?", one in black and white and another in color.
As he was known to compose songs, on this account, he was not only the co-composer and co-lyricist of the song. But he has been hands on from the choreography up to the design and planning of the music video.
Lay was able to show his multi-talented skills right from the steps and a teaser came right after the video when it caught Lay having a strange look in his eyes. At the end shows "Lose Control" coming soon, speculated to be the album's name or a title of a track.
