Three Bodies Found on Farm in Kansas, Victim's Teeth Seen Through Cinder Block [VIDEO & PHOTOS]
Three human bodies were found on a rural property in eastern Kansas on Tuesday, one day after the police were called to report a foul odor at the site.
According to The Washington Post, the bodies of two adult males and one woman were discovered on a farm that's west of Ottawa, which is 60 miles from Kansas City. The authorities are waiting to see if one of the bodies is a Kansas City mother that went missing along with her 18-month-old baby last week.
"We have three homicides on a very large scene," Sheriff Jeff Richards explained at a news conference.
Ottawa resident Kortni McGill told The Associated Press that she, Corey Schlotzhauer, 26, and Shona Osladil, 21, arrived home on Monday afternoon to find a dead body covered in a tarp and weighted down by a cylinder block.
"I reached down and saw teeth through the square in the cylinder block. I said, 'Corey, there's a body here,'" said McGill.
McGill explained that she and Schlotzhauer initially went to the property on Sunday to check on a friend who hadn't been around since April 25. When they first arrived at the residence, they smelled a strong odor from the south side of the house and contacted the police.
Upon conducting their first investigation, the authorities had initially written the disturbing smell off as garbage before coming back again to verify the presence of the bodies.
