'Pokemon GO' Gen 2 Update: New Updates Confirm 2nd Generation Rollout By 2017? [VIDEO]
Pokemon GO has gotten steadily better since it was launched a couple of months ago. Since its debut, the highly popular augmented reality game has seen its number of active players dwindle, encouraging Niantic Labs to come up with constant updates to the mobile title in order to keep its contents fresh and competitive.
Recently, however, the updates that were rolled out by the developer has captured the attention of avid Pokemon GO fans, with numerous players remarking that Niantic appears to be setting the stage for something very significant. According to most speculations, there is a good chance that this would be the highly-anticipated Generation 2 rollout.
The release of Generation 2 Pokemon has been rumored for some time, with most speculations stating that the new Pokemon would most likely make its debut once the first 150 Generation 1 Pokemon have been released into the wild. This is where things get a bit more interesting.
During the release of Pokemon GO, it was noted by many players that none of the legendary creatures in the first batch of Pokemon were available in the game. Numerous false sightings of Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres have emerged, and all have been proven untrue.
Interestingly enough, Ditto, a Pokemon that is extremely important for players who are into breeding, has not shown up in the game as well. While the reasons behind Ditto's absence have never really been revealed by Niantic, many Pokemon GO players believe that the creature's introduction to the game would herald the introduction of Pokemon Breeding as well.
The updates to Pokemon GO are very small and steady, with Niantic only releasing the most pertinent patches in small, frequent bursts. If any, however, its recent updates, such as the possible release of Ditto in the African region, as well as new features like the Buddy System, seems to signify that a massive, game-changing update would be coming soon.
As for the contents of this update, speculations are many, but avid fans of Pokemon GO believe that Generation 2 monsters would probably be included in the game sooner than expected.
