According to Ecumenical News, challenges will continue to rock Stella and Severide's relationship in the "Chicago Fire" Season 5 Episode 2. Stella decided that she will stay with Severide, however, their relationship becomes more complicated.

Although no one was hurt during the incident with Grant, Severide was forced to face shameful consequences of the incident. Brandt added that fans will see both of them grow as they try to build their own family and they will have some more resolution when it comes to their relationship. Haas confirmed that they plan to solidify the characters as a couple in the current season.
