'America's Got Talent' winner, Grace Vanderwaal to record first solo album
The amazing 12-year-old singer-songwriter is a hitmaker to come with only a month after her winning performance in 'America's Got Talent', she is on a tight schedule of doing her first album. Grace Vanderwaal is not only a singer; she plays the Ukulele very well to impress Simon Cowell, thus calling her "the next Taylor Swift". Her performances are not only popular in the show, but it is followed in social media with 10 million views on Facebook alone.
Her debut album under Columbia Records will be the first of Grace Vanerwaal's music career, and will definitely be the milestone of as like on her journey in AGT. USA TODAY recently reported how she shared on Tweeter her excitement in doing her first recording session together with vocal coach Autumn Rowe and music producer Greg Wells, which also was impressed by Vanderwaal's professionalism and singing. VanderWaal tweeted Simon Cowell a status update saying "I am sooooooo excited about what this is sounding like.@SimonCowell can't wait for you to hear it."
During her competition days in AGT, Grace Vanderwaal was already recognized by Billboard as among the promising artists under the age of 21. According to IBTimes, International music icons such as Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Jason Mraz were among those who congratulated VanderWaal for taking home the AGT season 11 title on Sep. 15. Her original composition "I Don't Know my Name" gave her the golden buzzer making her straight to semifinals; among other originals she performed in the show are "Beautiful Thing", "Light the Sky" and "Clay" as her winning piece that night.
Among other things, the talented AGT Season 11 winner revealed that she had a dream of joining American Idol but her age stopped her right from the audition. As an idol herself, she still looks up to Jason Mraz of whom she "would love to meet and just sing a song with. She added, "I really like his music and singing his songs." For this young promising artist, there is a lot more in store for her as fans are already anticipating her first solo album.
