Neil Patrick Harris Tony Awards Host: 'How I Met Your Mother' Actor Lands Gig for 4th Time
In recent years, Tony season has become synonymous with Neil Patrick Harris. This year will be no different as the star of television and Broadway is back to host the 67th Tony Awards.
The How I Met Your Mother veteran will open the telecast for the fourth time, this year back at Radio City Music Hall. The job comes as a result of the success he saw in 2009, 2011, and 2012.
"I'm very excited to be back hosting the Tony Awards at the legendary Radio City Music Hall," Harris stated, according to CBS.
And according to the man himself, the "show will rock."
"It'll be more impressive than ever -- if my math is correct, it will be 267 times bigger than last year," Harris said, according to CBS. "Oh, wait. No, that can't...hold on...carry the one...I'm awful at math. But rest assured, the show will rock!"
According to USA Today, the actor will not only emcee, but he will also serve as co-producer while Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss take on the role of executive producers.
The Tony Awards will be aired on June 9, with the Cyndi Lauper scored Kinky Boots and the British import Matilda leading the pack in nominations with 13 and 12 respectfully.
