Season 3 of "Outlander" might take some time before its official release and the fans are eagerly waiting for 2017. However, fans will receive a special treat this week as a new book will be released.

According to Christian Today, it was revealed that a new book from Tara Bennett will be released this week. The will be will titled "The Making of Outlander" and it will feature a compilation of the behind-the-scenes photos during the production of "Outlander" Season 1 and Season 2.

The show is based on the best-selling novels written by Diana Gabaldon. It was also confirmed that Gadbaldon wrote the introduction of the upcoming book. Executive producer Maril Davis said that the book will give fans some glimpse of how the show was created.

Davis told Entertainment Weekly that he heard that the fans wanted to know how the show was made. He added that the fans are interested in the film making process that is why they decided to show the different steps they took in order to create the show.

Meanwhile, Parent Herald reported that new characters will also join the show to make the plot more interesting. Cesar Domboy will be joining the show as the grown up Fergus, Will Johnson will portray the role of Joe Abernathy and the Young Ian Murray will be played by John Campbell.

Other characters in the show will also have older versions in the upcoming new season. David Berry was confirmed to play the role of the older Lord John William Grey and he becomes the governor of an abandoned prison in Northern Scotland.

Moreover, it was reported that "Outlander" Season 3 will have a 20-year storyline as what Sam Heughan who plays the reveled to Elle. It was also said that Caitriona Balfe's Claire will be getting pregnant in Season 3 as she returns to her 20th century family.

As of writing, there is still no definite date for the release of "Outlander" Season 3 but it is expected to air sometime in 2017.
