Police have arrested an 18-year-old Phoenix man in connection with a bomb threat that was sent out after jurors convicted Jodi Arias Wednesday of first-degree murder in the 2008 murder of Travis Alexander.

Authorities said Laquint Cherry, a local area resident was taken into custody early Thursday and faces terrorism and a felony charge for making threats.

Maricopa County Sheriff Deputy Joaquin Enriquez said that they are still investigating a tweet that came from Cherry's account indicating that he planned on detonating a bomb that was planted in the courtroom.

"Planted some IEDs in the #jodiarias Superior Court room in Phoenix Arizona tomorrow I'll become a HERO and also shot by pigs once I unload," Cherry reportedly tweeted according to the Christian Post.

Enriquez said that detectives linked the tweets back to a hotel in west Phoenix. The bomb squad and the SWAT team surrounded the hotel room, and Cherry eventually came out with a woman who was with him. The woman, who is reported to be Cherry's girlfriend was questioned and later released.

"This morning we surrounded the hotel; he didn't want to come out. In fact, we made a call, he said he wasn't coming out, he said he was going to shoot the cops," Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio told the press. "One thing I'm concerned about: Is he a lone ranger? Or is there someone else."

Arias fought back tears when she spoke out about the verdict minutes after her conviction Wednesday. She announced on televison that she would "prefer to die sooner than later."

"Longevity runs in my family, and I don't want to spend the rest of my natural life in one place," Arias told Fox affiliate KSAZ. "I believe death is the ultimate freedom and I'd rather have my freedom as soon as I can get it."
