The first teaser trailer for Alfonso Cuarón's heart-pounding sci-fi flick Gravity has hit the Internet.

In the quite tranquility of space, looking down on the blue-green marble of earth, it seems like nothing could go wrong.

"It's beautiful don't you think? ... The sunrise," Matt Kowalsky, played by George Clooney, says as the sun breaks over the edge of the planet.

But space is also dark and treacherous, as Kowalsky and Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) quickly finds out in the upcoming thriller.

Space debris rocket through the scene, as Kowalsky and Stone struggle to find a piece of their shattered spaceship to hold on to. Their sudden and intense fear is palpable as you hear their frantic yells mingled with the radio transmissions from the men stationed hundreds of miles beneath them on the planet below.

"Don't...Let...Go," the trailer cautions as we see Kowalsky spiral out into the darkness as the last thing we hear her say is "Anybody? Please copy."

Directed by Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men) and written by Cuarón and his son Jonás Cuarón, Gravity is set to hit theaters in October.

As Wired points out, Clooney and Bullock are the only actors listed by IMDb, aside from the voices on the radio, which means the success of the movie weighs largely on their shoulders.
