It is already almost a year after the end of "The Leftovers" Season 2 and fans are still waiting for Season 3 which will air sometime next year. Lead star Justin Theroux who plays the role of Kevin Garvey, teased on what fans may expect in the new and final season of the show.

According to Movie News Guide, Theroux assures the fans that their wait will be worth it. The production has already finished filming its final episodes in different locations in Australia. Season 3 will follow the events of Season 2 as the search for answers will lead the characters from Texas to Australia.

Theroux said that the final chapter of Kevin Garvey's story will be filled with twists and unexpected turns. Talking to Inverse, he said that "crazy things" will happen and it will be satisfying especially for the fans. He is confident that they have produced a good final season for their avid viewers.

Theroux also shared one of his favorite scenes in "The Leftovers" Season 2. He said that his scene with Patti (Ann Dowd) in the well was one of his most loved scenes in the show. He added that he was even shocked when he read the script for that scene. Most likely, more intense scenes like this will be present in "The Leftovers" Season 3.

Meanwhile, GameNGuide reported that series creator Damon Lindelof may have disclosed their plans on how they will end the show. He said that they are planning the show to end with a scene that will "evoke emotionally." Talking to Deadline, he added that the final season won't be about solving the mysteries and final closings.

As of writing, HBO is yet to release the official air date for "The Leftovers" Season 3. There are rumors that the network moved the air date to next year to give the show a fighting chance to get an Emmy for its final season.
