‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ star Kate Beckinsale, husband Len Wiseman divorce
Kate Beckinsale of "Underworld: Blood Wars" and her husband, Len Wiseman have now decided to divorce following 12 years of spending married life together. What could have caused the couple to go on their own ways?
The year 2016 is a difficult time for celebrity couples, who have been the subject of publicized divorce. The latest to bite the dust are Beckinsale and Wiseman.
The43-year-old director filed the divorce papers citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the filing, says the Mirror UK. The report also revealed that neither camp is asking for spousal support. This may be due to the fact that Kate and Len signed a prenuptial agreement before getting married.
The estranged couple faced divorce rumors as early as the last quarter of 2015. At that time, news surfaced that the "Underworld" film series actress and Wiseman broke off their marriage and did so amicably. The LA Times disclosed that in November of last year, the British actress was already seen not wearing her wedding ring.
At around the same time, according to reports, Wiseman was also spotted without his wedding band and with CJ Franco, a model who looks a bit like Beckinsale. At the moment, it is being stated that Franco is still with the "Total Recall" director and this may be the reason for the divorce filing, as well.
In 2003, Kate and Len met on the set of "Underworld" where she was the lead actress and he was the filmmaker. After a year, the two tied the knot. In their 12 years of marriage, the separated couple did not bear any children.
Beckinsale, on the other hand, has a daughter, Lily Sheen who is now 17 years old. The "Serendipity" actress got pregnant with Lily while still dating "Master of Sex" actor, Martin Sheen. The two were together for eight years before calling it quits. Both mentioned that they remain as good friends even though their relationship did not work out.
Beckinsale and Wiseman's last collaboration together is the upcoming "Underworld: Blood Wars" which will be shown in theaters on Jan. 6.
