"Once Upon a Time" season 6 may have lost its steam, according to some viewers, but the show's creators think differently. Will the successful fairytale series be cancelled mid-season? Will this be the last time fans see Emma and her magical family fight villains?

ABC, in cooperation with Disney, has successfully brought viewers' favorite fairytale characters come to life in the full-length television series, "Once Upon a Time." For five seasons, the popular series had a steady viewership, thanks to compelling storylines. However, OUAT may have lost some of its steam and some fans and critics are taking notice.

As pointed at by GameNGuide, "Once Upon a Time" may no longer be renewed by ABC, as feared by many of its avid viewers. The fairytale series might take the same route that "The Teen Wolf" and "The Vampire Diaries" are in now. Both shows mentioned are in their last season.

However, before people panic about the speculation, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, the creators of the series, released a statement that they definitely don't want Storybrooke to fade any time soon.

Horowitz disclosed that "We don't have an end date, but we have an end plan. We know how we want to end the show when the time comes." Kitsis added that there are no plans to put an end to Emma's story as of the moment.

Although both creators have already released statements about the show's fate, Storybrooke fanatics still worry because "Once Upon a Time" season 6 had just hit the series' lowest rating. However, it should also need to be noted that all Sunday shows have gotten low ratings for the past weeks.

Regarding the possibility of cancellation, Kitsis said that if "Once Upon a Time" comes to an end then all characters will die. "The greatest twist we could do is a show about hope becomes the bleakest show ever, so spoiler: they all die." But of course the creator said it in jest.

In the meantime, fans can still watch "Once Upon a Time" season 6 on ABC every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
