"Secrets and Lies", last season for Detective Cornell?; Show's ratings decreased viewership
In March 2015, an ABC show "Secrets and Lies" has been launched, drawing the attention of viewers for police detective series. But as the show moves forward, its ratings and critics review gave a disapproving grade and has noted some fallacies and misleading's on certain scenes. Apart from that, the show also received complaints about previous episodes that had offending dialogue from a certain group.
The first season of "Secrets and Lies" achieved a promising average rating of 1.50 in the 18-49 demographic having 5.66 million total viewers; of course, the show's existence will depend mainly on the 18-49 demo. Parent Herald provided a comparison in which, the tv series' 2nd season premier acquired a rating of 0.96 and has been averaging at least 0.86 rating. These shows that there was a significant decrease of 37.25% in season 2 premier episode from "Secrets and Lies" season 1 by its average rating and 42.50% lower than the last season on total episode average.
On being on the specifics, TV Series Finale has done the mathematics in comparing "Secrets and Lies'" rating beginning its first episode from season 2 up to episode 4. Although it maintained a substantial rating, more or less catching the viewer's interest for the show's 2nd season, for episodes after that, the number declined significantly which poses a threat to the show's contract. However, other shows may contribute to the mystery series' decreased ratings like AMC's season premiere of "The Walking Dead" and NBC's Sunday Night Football.
ABC may not like the idea that 3 of their shows are on the brim of its last season; two other shows namely "Conviction" a sure bet to be canceled by May 2017 while "Notorious" could also possibly face cancellation come spring. Given all the recent episode ratings for "Secrets and Lies", the show may be airing its last episodes but if they ever think of changing some plots for the remaining 5 episodes, then they can probably hope for a miracle to happen. The reality is that the only basis for the networks to renew or cancel the show is thru their ratings, a few of its fans and viewers who seem to like the show may be saddened by the majority's decision.
