According to BGR, one of the speculations about iPhone 8 is that Apple is trying to look into wireless charging for the upcoming phone. A source revealed to Nikkei Asian Review, which is a trade publication, that Apple has already begun tests on wireless charging modules for the next iPhone 8.

It was said that the reason why Apple is opting for wireless charging is that they wanted to remove the lighting port. If they become successful in removing this, iPhone 8 will be the first wireless smartphone to be produced.

Having a wireless charging options can also resolve compatibility issues with the new MacBook Pros. The new models do not have any ASB-A ports which will allow users to connect their iPhones.

This could be a sign that the company is again looking for some serious changes in their upcoming product. Next year will also be the 10th anniversary since the release of the first iPhone and it is expected that the company will go big with iPhone 8.

Indian Express reported that the new iPhone will have a new radical design. Sources claim that instead of having an aluminum back, iPhone 8 will have a glass back case that is reportedly developed by Biel and Lens. Aside from that, Nikkei also shared that Apple's supplier, Sharp revealed that iPhone 8 will adopt an OLED display.

There were also reports that there will be an additional screen size for iPhone 8 which will have a 5-inch version that will feature 2.5D glass. This means that the new iPhone 8 will have higher contrast with its new displays.

As of writing, Apple is yet to announce when they will release the new iPhone 8. Speculations claim that the new model will be released sometime next year.
