Many fans who have read the book may know what they can expect in "Outlander" Season 3. However, it seems like the show will take some liberties when it comes to the storyline with author Diana Gabaldon's approval.

According to International Business Times, "Outlander" Season 3 will feature more on Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Frank's (Tobias Menzies) marriage. Fans would know that Frank does not appear too frequently in the "Voyager" which is the novel that Season 3 is based on. The fans only had a glimpse of their lives but the show may tackle deeply on their relationship.

Author Gabaldon revealed to TV Guide earlier that "Outlander" Season 3 decided to expand the story of Claire and Frank a little bit. She expressed that despite the change, they were able to do it well and consistently. It was also reported that the opening scene will be a lot different from the book.

In the beginning of "Outlander" Season 3, Claire and Jamie (Sam Heughan) are separated. Balfe said in an interview with Vanity Fair that she is happy to be working with Menzies who she considers as a "backup husband." She added that Claire and Frank is an interesting and strange dynamic that fans would definitely love to see.

Meanwhile, HNGN reported that "Outlander" Season 3 will definitely feature more intimate scenes. In her interview Balfe hinted that fans may have been disappointed since there weren't many intimate scenes in "Outlander" Season 2. Balfe may have also hinted that this time there will be much more intimate scenes between her and Jamie in "Outlander" Season 3 compared to the previous season.

On the other hand, Menzies gets to work with Heughan in "Outlander" Season 3 more than Balfe. Menzies will reprise the role of Black Jack Randall who will meet Jamie on the battlefield in "Outlander" Season 3.

"Outlander" Season 3 will premiere on Starz sometime in 2017.
