Billy Bob Thornton reveals why his marriage to Angelina Jolie failed
Billy Bob Thornton - an American filmmaker, singer, and songwriter - has opened up the reasons why his three-year whirlwind marriage to Angelina Jolie failed.
"The Bad Santa 2" actor said the foremost reason that their relationship has failed to work was he was not the fancy gentleman she needed, according to a Mail Online reports.
The actor, who never hesitated public displays of affection with his ex-wife, said they we were on the opposite ends of their lifestyle and likes.
Thornton and Jolie got married after meeting on the sets of the 1999 movie "Pushing Tin." The couple was so crazy in love that they liked wearing each other's blood in a vial around their necks. But their short-lived marriage only lasted from 2000 to 2003, and the divorce took off.
In an interview with the GQ Magazine, the 61-year-old actor was quoted saying that he never felt good enough for the actress as she was passionate about her work with the United Nations while he just preferred spending time at home.
He also pointed out that he was not comfortable around rich and important people whereas Angelina loved to attend "high-end" parties.
Later, Billy Bob remarried Connie Angland, who gave birth to their daughter Bella in 2004. Both have been together for the last 12 years.
Interestingly, Angelina's name is still tattooed on one of Bob's leg and part of his arm. But the latter is now covered by an angel. However, he also has tattoos of his current wife and 12-year-old daughter.
Presently, Jolie is in the middle of her divorce battle from her husband Brad Pitt. She married Pitt in 2014 after meeting him on the set "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" in 2005. Both shares six children- Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10), and twins Knox and Vivienne (8).
Bob revealed that he is still having friendly relations with Angelina and they chat with each other every once in a while.
